ISLAMABAD : Oct 4 : Usman Dar , once a key political figure of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) , has said ex prime minister Imran Khan himself issued instructions to the party leaders and workers to attack the military installments in case he was arrested in any case. Addressing a press conference to announce his disassociation with PTI and say farewell to the politics after his release in May 9 mayhem case ,
Usman Dar said Imran Khan himself was responsible for May 9 attacks on the army installations . According to Mr Usman Dar a group of senior party leaders including Hammad Azhar , Asad Umar , Furrukh Habib , Murad Saeed, Azam Swati , Shahbaz Gill and Zulfi Bukhari , who had anti military mindset undertook the responsibility to carryout a violent protest at key military installations on the possible arrest of Imran Khan. He said the decision to attack the army installation was taken at a select meeting of PTI leaders chaired by Imran Khan and held at his residence in Bani Galla in Islamabad . He added that he denounces such style of PTI politics and resigns from its all position including basic party membership.
Usman Dar claimed that the purpose of May 9 attacks on the military installations was to dislodge the army chief , Syed Asim Munir, from his office. He said Imran Khan used the people as human shield to avoid his arrest.
He maintained that PTI lodged long march in October 2022 to block appointment of Gen. Asim Munir as the army chief. Usman Dar was very close to Imran Khan and held key positions in the party. Usman Dar is a known industrialist of Sialkot and he faced many cases during his association with PTI.
