ISLAMABAD: If you take a bird eye view of Pakistan Demoractic Movement (PDM) rally held in Multan on November 30,2020 it is difficult to assess who was winner of the show.
The PDM did held the rally in Multan, but its venue was Ganta Ghar rather than Qasim Bagh..original venue of the opposition rally.
The opposition was jubliant for holding rally in Multan, which was its prime demand .
The government too was happy as it did not allow the opposition alliance to hold rally at Qasim Bagh. So if you take the entire tale of the rally bit by bit , you will reach to the conclusion that no one was a looser.
The opposition , as usual, had nothing new to tell the crowed. Its leaders including Maryam Nawaz and Maulana Fazalur Rehman had the same sterio type addresses to the public. The participants too did not show any enthusism and hence they hardly responded to PDM leaders slogans passionately.
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari was the only attraction of Multan rally for the public. Aseefa Bhutto Zardari made very brief speech at Multan rally, but it, as was expected , made her first ever speech to the rally a good display of her political understanding . Her tone and expression reminded the crowed of Benazir’s typical style and dressing.
The media welcomed Aseefa Bhutto as new politician with open heart. It seemed the media was anxiously waiting for Aseefa’s entry in Pakistan’s politics.
The political pundits call Aseefa as a true and dieto copy of Benazir Bhutto. She also overshadowed Maryam Nawaz, whose address to Multan rally had nothing new . She, as usual , lashed out at prime ministrer , Imran Khan, for different reasons. She counted failures of Imran Khan in her address and demanded him to resign before he was thrown out of the power soon.
Other PDM leaders including JUI (F) chief , Maulana Fazalur Rehman repeated their previous speeches at Multan rally. They hurled threat to the government to take on Islamabad if their demands were not met.
