World except India welcomes Pak-Afghan ceasefire agreement

Both Asian neighbours agree to respect each other sovereignty . Afghanistan assures no terror group will be allowed to operate from its soil against Pakistan . Next round of talks to be held in Turkiya

Doha / Islamabad : As Pakistan and Afghanistan have agreed to an immediate ceasefire as a result of talks mediated by Qatar and Turkey after a week of intense and bloody clashes on the border, global leaders welcome the step. Turkiya, Saudi Arabia , Iran , Russia , US , China , Middle East countries welcome ceasefire agreement between two Asian neighbours .

India remains silent on Pak-Afghan ceasefire agreement for a reason better known to every one .

Pakistan welcome ceasefire agreement with Afghanistan as a first step in the right direction. Deputy prime minister and Foreign minister , ishaq Dar , has welcomed the ceasefire agreement with Afghanistan and called it as a first step in the right direction.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, while confirming the ceasefire between Pakistan and Afghanistan said that delegation-level talks will be held again in Istanbul on October 25 between the two countries.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry has expressed hope on behalf of the State of Qatar that this important step will help in ending the tension between the two brotherly neighboring countries and laying the foundation for lasting peace in the region. According to the report, the Qatari Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Sunday morning that Afghanistan and Pakistan have agreed to establish a ceasefire and a mechanism to consolidate lasting peace and stability between the two countries. Qatar added that the two countries have also agreed to hold follow-up meetings in the coming days to ensure the continuity of the ceasefire and to monitor its implementation in a credible and sustainable manner.

The Defense Minister said in his message on the social networking website X that a ceasefire agreement has been reached between Pakistan and Afghanistan, terrorism from Afghanistan on Pakistani soil will stop immediately and both neighboring countries will respect each other’s territory. Khawaja Asif said the delegations will meet again on October 25 in Istanbul, and detailed matters will be discussed.

” We are deeply grateful to both the brotherly countries of Qatar and Turkey. Earlier, the Qatari Foreign Minister said in a statement on X that rounds of talks between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and Afghanistan were held in Doha under the mediation of Qatar and Turkey. During the talks, the parties agreed on an immediate ceasefire and the establishment of mechanisms to strengthen lasting peace and stability in both countries.

The statement said that the parties also agreed on follow-up meetings in the coming days to ensure the continuity of the ceasefire and its credible and sustainable implementation, so as to help establish peace and stability in both countries.The talks came as clashes left dozens dead and hundreds injured, the worst fighting between the two South Asian neighbours since the Taliban took over Kabul in 2021.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry welcomed the ceasefire agreement in a statement, saying that it welcomed the ceasefire agreement after the talks between Afghanistan and Pakistan mediated by Turkey and Qatar. It was further said that Turkey will continue its support for achieving lasting peace and stability in the two brotherly countries and the region. Oman also welcomed the agreement between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The statement said that the Sultanate of Oman appreciates the role of Qatar and Turkey in reaching the agreement and hopes that this agreement will be helpful in establishing lasting and comprehensive peace. Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq also welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Islamabad and Kabul, calling it an important step. In a statement issued on the social networking site ‘X’, he said that the ceasefire agreement between the two countries is an important step towards regional stability,

Pakistan has always believed in peaceful coexistence, dialogue and respect for neighboring countries. Peace and stability are the collective needs of the people of both countries, Pakistan’s steps for peace and stability in the region are commendable, Pakistan has paid a heavy price in the war against terrorism. He said that Pakistan has served 4.5 million refugees from neighboring Afghanistan and created a timeless story of neighborliness by serving Afghan refugees, Pakistan has been fighting the war against terrorism for the last 3 decades. Pakistan has sacrificed more than 90,000 precious lives in the war against terrorism, peace in Afghanistan is linked to the peace of Pakistan, the ceasefire made possible by the consensus of the political and military leadership is welcome. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq welcomed the announcement of the second round of talks to be held in Istanbul on October 25, adding that the negotiation process is the only guarantee for establishing lasting peace in the region.

Former US Ambassador to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad also called the agreement good news coming from Doha. He wrote in a post that thanks to the mediation of Qatar and Turkey, Afghanistan and Pakistan reached a ceasefire agreement.
