ISLAMABAD : Dec 8,2022: Salman Shahbaz Sharif , son of prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif , has got major relief from the court for his return to Pakistan.
Islamabad High Court (IHC) has granted the relief to Sulman Shahbaz Sharif here by issuing an order to the authorities concerned not to arrest him at the Islamabad airport on his return to Pakistan.
Salman Sharif’s counsel had filed.a petition before the IHC for seeking its orders for the authorities not to arrest his client (Salman Sharif) at the airport when he returns from abroad.
IHC chief justice Amir Farooq heard the petition. The judge during the hearing ruled that the presence of the accused was a pre requisite for grant of relief as was sought for Salman Sharif . Salman Sharif ‘s counsel pleaded before the court that his client will surrender himself before the court soon after his return to Pakistan.
On the assurance of the counsel, the court granted relief to Salman Sharif and barred the authorities from arrested him at the airport on his return from abroad .
Salman Sharif is facing a money laundering case and he had left Pakistan for United Kingdom in ,2018, fearing then government could victimise him to settle political score against his family.
Salman Shahbaz Sharif is currently in Saudi Arabia to perform Urma prior to return to Pakistan.
According to the record presented by Salman Sharif ‘s counsel his client (Salman Sharif) is scheduled to return to Pakistan on December 11 via Saudi Airline.
Salman Sharif as per assurance given by his counsel will. appear before IHC on December 13,2022.
