ISLAMABAD: Jan 25, 2023: A court of duty magistrate Islamabad granted 2-day physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) leader and former federal minister, Fawad Chaudhary in a case of hurling threat to the officials of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP);.
The court ordered to the police to produce to the accused on completion of physical remand on January 27,2023.

Fawad Chaudhary, was presented before the duty magistrate Islamabad, Naveed Khan, in handcuff to seek his physical remand after his arrest in hurling threats to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) officials and their families’ case.
On the outset of the hearing, Fawad Chaudhary, pleaded to the court to grant him five minutes to meet his wife who was present in the court room and his counsel to discuss legality of his case. PTI leader informed the court that he was a Supreme Court lawyer, senior parliamentarian and former federal minister and he was produced before the court in handcuff. He defended his last day’s words and said ECP is neither a state nor a government organ and he had advised it not to disseminate hate to provoke the public to come to the lowest level for reaction.
Fawad Chaudhary’s counsel also requested to the duty magistrate to order the police to open up handcuff of his client.
The investigation officer demanded a weeklong physical remand of Fawad Chaudhary for his investigations.
Fawad Chaudhary had addressed the party workers in Lahore on Tuesday and warned the ECP officials and their families of public reaction for picking- up the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) nominee ,Mohsin Naqvi, for the office of caretaker chief minister Punjab.
ECP secretary had filed a complaint with the Islamabad police against his remarks and sought action against him. Taking prompt action , Islamabad police rushed to Lahore to arrest Fawad Chaudhary on Tuesday morning. After his arrest, PTI stalwart was brought to Islamabad and produced in the court of duty magistrate , Naveed Khan, for physical remand.
