Islamabad : The Pakistan Airlines International (PIA) spokesperson has responded to a news story circulating on certain social media platforms pertaining to a UK Court ordering PIA to pay £1 million and termed it as false.
He said the court proceedings have just started, and there is time before we come to the stage of a court verdict.
However, the lawyers of both parties might reach an out of court settlement agreement much before that as both are in constant negotiations since the last few days.
As the matter is subjudice and not much can be commented on that, however the spokesperson added that they will keep the media updated on any developments in this regard. Some social media reports had claimed that the UK court has ordered PIA to pay £ 1 million its 7 employees who were sacked in 2021. The sacked PIA employees were hired in the UK and some of them had served the national airlines for more than a decade. The sacked employees have challenged their dismissal from service in the UK court , claiming that PIA violated the rules and regulations while dismissing them from service.
