MELBOURNE, November 4, 2024: Australia has won the first ODI against Pakistan in Melbourne after a fierce come back fight from Pakistani bowlers with Haris Rauf making a hat-trick attempt against Australian batting squad.
Pakistan could only score 203 in 47th over with all out and key batsman could only score a meager total. However, Australian batsman showed a better game.
Total overs bowled in the match were only 79.7, because of the poor score added by the Pakistani side. The Team Pakistan was against failed to show an impressive batting.
Australia matched the score at the loss of 8 wickets.
Earlier, Australia has lost 7 wickets while chasing Pakistan’s small total of 203 tuns, while it needs only 34 runs in 25 overs. Pakistan needs now 4 wickets in next few overs, if it really has some impactful first one-day international (ODI) against Australia, in Melbourne.
With, Haris Rauf had an attempt of hat-trick destroying the middle order of the Austrlian cricket team.
Australa’s grip on the match was quite strong till it just lost three wickets in few overs.
Eaerlier, Australia was inching towards its first win in the first ODI against Pakistan with only 101 runs needed in 100 runs needed in 35 overs with 8 wickets in hands.
Austalian batsmen are taking their team towards victory by scoring on the average of 7 runs per over, while the required run rate is only 3.5 per over. Thier position is getting stronger and stronger in every over.
Earlier, Pakistan all out on 203 in 46.4 overs in first ODI against Australia in Melbourne. This was a poor performance.
While, Aurstralia was 21 in 3.1 overs with 9 wickets in hands. The match looks easy for Australia to chase the tiny score in ODI when normally winning score is over 300 now a days.
Babar Azam was in could only make 37 and Rizwan 39 when spinner Adam Zampa broke the partnership, bowling Azam on his fourth delivery.
Earlier, Australia won the toss and put Pakistan to bat first in the first ODI against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Monday.
Pakistan, now led by skipper Mohammad Rizwan after Babar Azam stepped down from the captaincy, aims to rebound following their disappointing performance in the recent ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup, where they suffered a 93-run defeat to England and failed to reach the semi-finals.
