ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), in coordination with Sri Lanka Cricket, has postponed the final two 50-over matches of the Pakistan Shaheens-Sri Lanka ‘A’ series due to the ongoing political unrest in the federal capital.
The matches, originally scheduled for Wednesday and Friday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, will be rescheduled as both boards work to finalize new dates.
The Shaheens currently lead the series, having won the two four-day matches 1-0 and the opening 50-over game by 108 runs on Monday.

The decision to postpone the matches comes amid violent protests in Islamabad, where supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), led by Imran Khan’s wife and senior party leaders, clashed with law enforcement agencies.
The protesters are demanding the release of their imprisoned leader, Imran Khan, along with other political demands.
In response to the growing unrest, the Interior Ministry issued a notification invoking Article 245, which grants the military the authority to assist in maintaining law and order.
The notification also gives the army the power to impose curfews in areas where necessary to control the violence.
