PrimPM Sharif visits IBI Corporation headquarters in Beijing

Reaffirms commitment to expanding Pakistan-China economic and technological cooperation

Beijing: May 26, 2026: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif visited the Headquarters of IBI in Beijing today (Tuesday) Prime Minister Office (PMO) media wing statement issued here said.

It added the Prime Minister while addressing a ceremony held during his visit to the headquarters of IBI Corporation in Beijing, underscored the importance of strengthening Pakistan-China economic and commercial cooperation, promoting bilateral trade and investment, and enhancing institutional linkages between the business communities of the two countries. He noted that the deepening of such ties is a cornerstone of the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif stated that Pakistan would extend full support to Chinese companies for the promotion and expansion of their businesses and further strengthen economic, trade, and technological ties between the two countries.
The Prime Minister said that he was pleased to host the IBI delegation in Islamabad a few weeks ago and assured the company of every possible facilitation for the growth of its business activities in Pakistan.
He stated that under CPEC 2.0, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Information Technology are among Pakistan’s four most important priority programmes that the government is pursuing on a fast-track basis.
Addressing the young participants present in the ceremony, he described them as talented entrepreneurs and experts in their respective fields, adding that government of Pakistan is undertaking extensive measures to provide technical training and skills development opportunities to young people of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister further said that under CPEC 2.0, vast investment opportunities exist in Special Economic Zones (SEZs).
Inviting Chinese investors to visit the first Special Economic Zone near Port Qasim in Karachi, he said that the project spans over 6,000 acres and is a highly promising initiative where modern infrastructure and facilities will be provided.
Earlier upon his arrival at IBI, the Prime Minister was received by Mr Wang Shaofeng, Party Secretary of Fengtai District, Beijing along with the President of IBI Mr Qian Xiaojun.
Over 150 companies and their representatives attended the thematic meeting about cross border industrial belt practices and further promoting China-Pakistan industrial collaboration.
