Agreement on Gaza san Hamas remains fragile : Dr Tariq Saleem

Islamabad – Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab, Dr. Tariq Saleem, has said that any agreement on the Palestine issue will not be sustainable if the true representatives of Palestinians, including Hamas, are sidelined. He stressed that Palestinians are the main stakeholders in the conflict and peace cannot be established without their inclusion.

Addressing participants at a Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH) Conference organized by Jamaat-e-Islami Mianwali, Dr. Tariq Saleem stated that the so-called “two-state solution” to the Palestine issue is tantamount to recognizing Israel, which he described as an illegitimate state. He added that the Muslim Ummah in general, and the Pakistani nation in particular, will never accept Israel’s recognition, warning that any such attempt by the rulers could prove costly.

Criticizing Pakistan’s political leadership, he remarked that whether in government or in opposition, both sides compete in “American slavery.” He said Jamaat-e-Islami is awaiting Hamas’ stance on the issue and will fully support any decision taken by the Palestinian resistance leadership.

Dr. Tariq Saleem also condemned the Pakistani government’s proposal to nominate former US President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, calling it “regrettable, against national dignity, and a reflection of a servile mentality.” He argued that Trump openly supported Israel during the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza and cannot be seen as a peace-broker.
