AJK governance issue : govt , action committee review progress on agreement

Islamabad — A high level meeting to review the implementation of the agreement between the Government of Pakistan and the Joint Awami Action Committee was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan, Engineer Amir Maqam.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr.Tariq Fazal Chaudhry, Chief Secretary Azad Jammu and Kashmir Khushhal Khan, Secretary Kashmir Affairs Zafar Hassan, and Additional Secretary Kamran Rahman Khan, along with other senior officials.

During the session, Chief Secretary Khushal Khan gave a detailed briefing on the progress made so far regarding the implementation of various clauses of the agreement.The participants reviewed the ongoing coordination between the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, along with steps taken to address public demands.

Speaking at the meeting, Engineer Amir Maqam emphasized that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has issued clear directives to ensure complete and faithful implementation of the agreement reached with the Joint Awami Action Committee.

He instructed all concerned departments to ensure maximum progress before the upcoming meeting in Muzaffarabad.

According to sources, the next meeting between the Government and the Joint Awami Action Committee will be held on November 15 in Muzaffarabad, where further decisions regarding the agreement’s implementation are expected.

Federal and Azad Kashmir officials reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring full compliance with all provisions of the agreement, stressing that the measures are aimed at strengthening public trust and addressing the genuine concerns of the people of the region.
