Addressing the gathering, Dr. Tariq Saleem lauded the dedication and commitment of Al-Khidmat Foundation and Jamaat-e-Islami volunteers who, he said, had been actively engaged in relief operations from the very first day of the floods. Our volunteers provided rescue services, medical care, ready-to-eat meals, medicines, and dry rations without any discrimination,” said Dr. Saleem. “Now, even before the onset of severe cold, Al-Khidmat has ensured the provision of warm bedding and other winter essentials for the affected families.

Dr. Tariq Saleem also criticized the Punjab government and long-time ruling families in Gujrat, holding them responsible for the region’s inadequate flood management and infrastructure decay. He said Those who have ruled for three decades have treated the people of Punjab—especially Gujrat—like stepchildren. Their neglect will not be forgotten.
