ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Thursday proposed to the government an increase of Rs 10 per litre in the prices of the petroleum products. The new prices, if aporoved by the government in the same equation, will become effective from October 16 for a fortnoght.
In case of upward revision , it will be 5th major increase in petroleum products’ prices in a row in the last two and half months.
The summary sent by OGRA will be fowarded to the prime minister, Imran Khan, for a final decision.
With repeated increase in the oil prices in recent weeks, it has become difficult for the masses to keep buying things of their daily use. The rising oil prices have pushed up rates of each item including edibles.
The government is continuously reminding to the people that the rise in the oil prices was due to surge in their prices in the international market.
The government is also reminding to the people that the oil prices were still comparatively less in Pakistan than any other country in the region.
