ISLAMABAD: A cash van of Brinks Security was looted by half a dozen armed dacoits in the day light outside Habib Bank Limited (HBL) brach in I-9 industrial sector of Islamabad.
The dacoits, who were wearing shalwar Qameez, appeared before HBL branch in parking area where Brinks van was parked by its staff to collect cash from the bank. Hundreds of people were present at the scene when the dacoits looted cash from the Brinks van in busy industrial sector of Islamabad. No considerable resistance was given either by the bank guards or Brinks own security to the dacoits. The first party of dacoits entered into the cash van and sat their in waiting the Brinks staff to bring out cash from the bank. As soon as the Brinks security personnel came out of the bank with bag full of cash in their hands the second party of dacoits attacked them and snatched three bags stuffed with Rs 30 million. The first party which was already sitting inside the cash van hit the driver on his head with some iron rod for giving some resistance and left him injured before escaping from the scene with the second party waiting already for them in a white Corolla car.
The incident occured in day light at around 2 pm but till late at night no first information report (FIR) was registered by I-9 police.
