ISLAMABAD : October 31, 2022:. The government has appointed Ayaz Sadiq, a Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) senior leader , as
the federal Law minister .
A notification of Ayaz Sadiq’s appointment as Law minister was also issued here on Monday .
.The portfolio of the federal Law minister had become vacant a couple of weeks ago when Azam Nazir Tarar, a close legal aide to Sharif’s, had resigned from the post .
Azam Nazir Tarar cited personal reasons for his resignation as the federal Law minister, but later Tweeted that he resigned as he did not want to see criticism on the armed forces in his presence as a representative of the government .
Azam Nazir Tarar was a chief guest of the function held in Lahore on the second death anniversary of Asma Jahangir a couple of weeks ago .
A group of the participants of the function had raised slogans against the army and its chief during the speeches of the federal minister and the senior leadership of the Pakistan People Party (PPP) ..
Asma Jahangir was known for criticising the armed forces in her life and her like-minded group used her anniversary to malign the armed forces of Pakistan.
Azam Nazir Tarar had sharply reacted to the anti military slogans raised at Asma Jahangir ‘s anniversary and later resigned as a Law minister .
