ISLAMABAD: Begum Shamim Akhtar, mother of former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif , and opposition leader , Mian Shahbaz Sharif, died in United Kingdom on Sunday. She was 89.
Begum Shamim Akhtar had opted to stay with Nawaz Sharif when he left Pakistan for ‘treatment’ in 2019.
Since 2019, Begum Shamim Akhtar was livimg with Nawaz Sharif in London. She breathed her last on Sunday at around 12 noon.
The political , social personalities and well- wishers of Sharif family send condolance messages to Sharifs on demice of Shamim Akhtar.
Begum Shamim Akhtar’s dead body will be brought back to Pakistan for burial.
Some media reports quoting Sharif family sources claimed Nawaz Sharif will not accompany dead body of his mother due to his ailing health.
