ISLAMABAD : August 18, 2022.China vowed to transfer technology to help Pakistan expedite its process of development and progress in crucial areas of the economy like agriculture, infrastructure and power sector related projects .
Chinese ambassador to Islamabad, Nong Rong , made a firm commitment on behalf his government to help iron brother Pakistan while addressing to Green Development High Level Policy Dialogue on China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project organized by Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) here on Thursday .
Minister for Planning , Development and Special Initiatives , Mr Ahsin Iqbal, was the chief guest .
The Chinese ambassador said Pakistan and China being iron brothers have great potential for mutual cooperation and Beijing give top priority to help Islamabad overcome its development related woes. Mr Nong Rong maintained that since progress and prosperity of a country was directly linked to application of technology and China was ready to provide Pakistan required technology to enhance its capacity and progress at fast pace in the future. Chinese ambassador viewed that CPEC was a real game changer and with going of Pakistan in its next phase, Pakistan can tap huge direct investment from Chinese companies .
Mr Nong Rong also express his confidence that China Pakistan mutual cooperation will further strengthen and cement a bond of iron brotherhood between the two countries .
China is showing unflinching support to expand CPEC to those areas of Pakistan where it was lagging behind in progress and development. Under this initiative , China has injected billions of dollars in Pakistan’s key areas like power generation , agriculture and infrastructure.
China is looking for further cooperation with Pakistan to help its economy overcome existing slagging mode and compete with other growing countries.
Prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif, is likely to visit China in very near future to sign a number of more agreements to bring investment from China for many other new areas like green development projects and those projects which can help Pakistan produce cheaper electricity.
SDPI executive director , Dr Abid Suleri, thanked the participants of the dialogue and hoped that the dialogue will help bring China Pakistan closer in the future . He attached great importance to green development high level dialogue and thanked Chinese ambassador , Ahsin Iqbal , minister for Planning and Special Initiatives to make it a success.
