Brazilian envoy calls for enhancing Pakistan, Brazil trade

FPCCI leaders foresee rise in bilateral trade

ISLAMABAD. August 19, 2022. The first meeting of Pakistan Brazil Business Council of FPCCI 2022, chaired by Umar Masood ur Rehman Vice President FPCCI, held at FPCCI Capital Office Islamabad.

The meeting was also graced by the Brazilian Ambassador Olyntho Vieira. The Chairman Pak – Brazil Business Council of FPCCI Arif Mehmood along with Saad Masood ur Rehman, President Mardan CCI, Sehbaz Majeed, Former President, Sher Afghan SVP Haripur CCI, Zuhaib Khan, EC Member Mardan CCI, Khush Noor Didar, President Women CCI Gilgit Division and others members of the Council, also attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed bilateral trade, and cooperation in various fields was also discussed and agreed upon.

The Brazilian Ambassador emphasized on the potential exist in both countries to enhance economic cooperation and said that opportunities should be explored for the promotion of bilateral trade and economic activities.

He further emphasized on investment opportunities that emerged with the CPEC in Pakistan for global foreign investors including Brazil. Commenting on the geographical location of Pakistan and Brazil, he said that both countries are not that much distant from each other and both countries can fulfil the need of quality products of each other,” the envoy said.

Umar Masood Ur Rehman Vice President FPCCI said that FPCCI wants to promote business, mutual understanding and friendly relations between the business communities of Pakistan and Brazil. “We also want to promote Brazilian investment in Pakistan and do everything for the development of Pakistan-

Brazilian business cooperation,” he concluded. Talking about Pakistan-Brazil relations, he said that relations between both the countries have zero issues and a friendly image. Brazil is keen to enhance good relations with Pakistan. He further emphasized on the joint venture in various sectors like trade, education, and agriculture which are the key areas that could promote ties between both countries

The Chairman Pakistan Brazil Business Council Arif Malik and Chairman Pakistan Belarus Business Council Saad Masood Ur Rehman & others said that Pakistan’s geographical location is very important and Brazilian investors should focus on Pakistan for investment and joint ventures. They also suggested to enhance people to people contact between the private sectors of both countries.

They highlighted the potential of Pakistani marble, textile products, leather and leather products, pharmaceutical, surgical instruments and agro products including rice, pulses, fruits, and vegetables could find a good market in Brazil.
