ISLAMABAD : Sept 15 : While yet giving another shock to inflation -hit people of Pakistan , the caretaker government of prime minister ,Anwaarul Haq Kakar , on Friday revised upward the rates of the petroleum products in a massive way.
The caretaker government from which inflation -hit people were demanding relief in electricity bills has increased the rates of petrol by Rs 26.02 to take its per liter price to Rs 331.38 for the next 15 days . The price of high speed diesel (HSD) has been increased by Rs 17.34 and its new rates have been fixed at Rs 329.18 per liter. The new rates of the petroleum products will remain effective till Sept 30.
The increase in the international market has been made a basis for such a big increase in the rates of the petroleum products .. This massive increase in the rates of petroleum products will hit the people of Pakistan below the belt as they are already wailing under unbearable load of high inflation.. These people are so pressed due to rising inflation that they had taken the streets some four weeks ago.
The caretaker government is continuously adding pressure on the low and middle sections of the society through repeated increases in the rates of the petroleum products. This huge increase in the rates of the petroleum products will open yet another flood of price-hike in Pajistan and subsequently make the lives of low income and middle class people more miserable. The decision of the caretaker government to increase the rates of the petroleum products is a big shock for the nation.
