This picture taken Sunday 26th June, 2022 at 1230 Noon of the hotels built in the middle of the water stream with private hatcheries/ sale point for the trout fish , is a a symbol of catastrophe in waiting that can trigger the tragedy any time, any day and any moment :once in the monsoon the stream gets filled with the torrential rains and these structures wasted away with the gullible tourists trapped inside, unaware of the risks its poses to their lives.
The recent pre – monsoon downpour brought some relief to Pakistan and Pakistanis of the climatic heat, if no monetary relief was either given or promised to them by the the present government through the budget.
Pakistani’s contribute substantially to the promotion of domestic tourist industry despite all odds to get some relief for themselves and their families through the break from the economic hardships that their government gifts them every year despite getting no value for their money. Though, promotion and protection of domestic tourism remains the core agenda of the PTI led Government and closest to Imran Khan’s heart especially in the KPK where most of the tourist attractions are located
A trip to the home town of our PTI Chief Minister Honourable Mehmood Khan in Swat, where the heavenly Gabin Jabba is based revealed shocking realities, of all else was the unplanned construction all along roads and shockingly inside the “High Risk River Bed” as if there exists no administration and government, who can either deter, control or plan the area as per an approved lay out tourist plan for commercial hotel industry their construction, location approval, food beverages, rates and other consumers protection measures of health and safety .
Ironically, there remains no government and its foot prints of good governance, when it comes to the delivery. One can hardly see any mechanism for the tourism industry well planned execution that results into yet another catastrophe, as if the mess in Murree is not enough example of our incompetence to turn gold into ashes, the next in line is Gabin Jabba and the catastrophe that awaits not to surprise but reward us for our laid back attitude to manage our own home then quote examples of others and their success stories.
