KARACHI : Dec 2,2022: Pound sterling retained gaining spree in the first half of working session on Friday. It jumped up to Rs 289 from the last day’s rate of Rs 287.10.
Pound sterling is making massive gains for the last couple of days in local currency market .
Other major currencies such as US dollar , Saudi Riyal, Euro and UAE dirham remained stable in interbank in the domestic currency market .
The rupee made slight gain in interbank against dollar , but it remained stable in open market . US dollar slide down to Rs 223.60 against its last day’s value of Rs 223.70. In open market it remained stable at Rs 229.25. it observed no change in the rate in last 24 hours.
Euro also did not show any change in value and.it remained pegged at its last day ‘s rate of Rs 246.50.
The rupee is stable in the local currency market despite major dip in Pakistan’s Forex reserves . The currency market experts say the rupee is likely to gain strength in coming days when the country’s Forex reserves will improve.
