Keeping with the last ten years of tradition, the Memon Welfare Society-MASA in Jeddah Saudi Arabia organized the 10th Education Awards at Happyland Park Jeddah, in which 500 peoples participated along with prominent business and social personalities of the Memon community based in Saudi Arabia as well as print & electronic media representatives. In this event, 105 children including primary and secondary classes, O&A level, graduate, post graduate, degree holders and Hafiz Quran were awarded shields, trophies and certificates by MASA.
The educational award ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran, which was blessed by Mustafa Muhammad Yusuf and Muhammad Yasir presented the Hamd
Jawaid Ashraf Kherani performed the compere duties in this event and Aqsa Kolsawala and Manal Younus also supported him.
President MASA Waseem Abdul Razak Tai in his welcome address congratulated all the children selected for the award and indicated to organize other educational and other programs in addition to this education award.
General Secretary Sadiq Sorathia informed about the current activities and upcoming new plans of MASA and emphasized on the promotion of Memoni language.
The chief guest of the ceremony, Consul General of Pakistan Jeddah, Mr. Khalid Majeed, in his address, congratulated all the members of Masa for organizing the dignified ceremony and encouraged the children. He assured the consulate and his full cooperation in other matters.
Yaqub Al Maimani, Adnan Nasir (Principal Pakistan International School Jeddah) specially attended the event and paid tribute to the officials and members of MASA for encouraging children in the field of education.
The head of the Education Committee, Muhammad Siraj Lala, in his address, urged the youth to learn modern educational issues. He along with his team has been busy collecting and verifying the educational credentials for the past two months. A stage play in Memon language was also presented in the program to promote Memon language in our community.
Khadija Khan, manager of Danube Properties from Dubai Emirates, who was the core sponsor of the event, informed the people about her company’s plans and also introduced some offers. Other co-sponsors also contributed to this event.
A tableau prepared by Siraj Adamjee was performed by the children on the stage which received great appreciation. During the ceremony, awards were also distributed among the students of different classes by the guests and gifts and food coupons given by various sponsors were also distributed among the guests present in the hall.
Vice President Imran Amin Musqatiya thanked all the male and female officials and members, sponsors, media representatives, volunteers and all those who put in their best efforts to make the event a success. Children and adults also enjoyed the rides and games in the park.
