Out of all losses, losing trust of the people is the worst that any State can suffer . Pakistan has been too good at not being trusted internationally but now the saddest part is that its own people began to lose their faith in both its state and its institutions fairness due to its proclivity towards vigilantism and muscle power than rallying around the masses to protect their Interests by protecting the laws that govern them. The worst is when the state arms are used politically than professionally and then abondoned to protect oneself- what a short lived policy .
What a shocking news for the FIA to have arrested Shaikh Akhtar Hussain, former CEO Drug Regulatory Authority, in a fake degree case and over his alleged involvement in the 2.5 billion corruption case. Imagine the man who govern the regulation of drugs on which depend the 250 million Pakistani lives was appointed having a fake doctorate degree from Sri Lanka. What a shame for our spooks to have not either prevented his appointment nor being instrumental to send him packing home while he was on the chair but then there must be an invisible hand and godfather who must be protecting Shaikh Sahab make the hay while the sun shone before the rainy day.
I wonder what face the ex CJP will have to face himself in the mirror when his own judgement was thrown out of the window by the power that be which has unfortunately done more harm than good to their own interests or the country’s interests that feeds them but shockingly turn around to bite the very hands feeding them . Do we have slightest idea of this incident and its fallout as a death blow this to the morale of the entire judiciary and legal fraternity
As I skimmed Dawn this morning that I discovered this shocking news that I copy for my readers. Lahore has been famous for good food and notorious for gangsterism, as well . One wonders whether any gangster can survive without the state’s own overt or covert support. To be honest, if the police themselves are not protected and when the former Chief Judge’s attackers remain unidentified and untraceable despite his facing constant political threat.
The Punjab police is yet to decide whether it was a fire cracker or a grenade but the damage the explosive wrecked couldn’t not be a fire cracker. Moreover, the Punjab police cordoned the entire Lahore looking for the attackers but will never give a second thought to the master mind. It is this honesty to ourselves and our institutions that today Pakistan faces the worst credibility crisis when neither its so – called elites nor its establishment trusted or respected, anymore .
The power that be must stop as it is their sensibility that has brought the country to its present state of both despair and destruction while they falsely acquiesce themselves of serving the national interests when the nation and their national interests are sacrificed brazenly on the altar of their ego through the political engineering that result into the ongoing political vendetta and witch hunt.
“Two policemen were injured in a blast at former chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar’s Lahore residence on Wednesday, according to the police.
Media channels reported that the explosion had taken place in the garage. Photos of a damaged black car were also aired on TV.
A statement from the Punjab police said provincial police chief Dr Usman Anwar had taken notice of the incident and summoned a report from Lahore’s capital city police officer.
He also directed that the injured cops be provided with the best possible medical treatment.
“The ex-CJP’s family members are completely safe,” the Punjab police statement said, adding that the Punjab IG had directed for the incident to be investigated from all aspects and senior police officials were present on the scene.
The statement also said that Constable Amir and Constable Khurram sustained minor injuries in the incident.
A statement from provincial emergency service spokesperson Farooq Ahmed said Rescue 1122 teams were immediately dispatched to the scene after an emergency call and treated the injured.
A subsequent statement from the police said senior officials surveilled the spot.
“According to the preliminary investigation, it is a malicious attempt to spread fear and terror in the country by its enemies,” it quoted the Punjab police spokesperson as saying, adding that the possibility of foreign involvement could not be ruled out.
It said there was no loss of life in the incident and the evidence from the scene was being investigated, further saying that the culprits would be traced soon.
