Islamabad : September 4, 2024 : An accountability court of judge ,Nasir Javed Rana, reserved the judgment in £ 190 million fraud case here on Wednesday filed against ex prime minister , Imran Khan and his spouse Bushra Bibi . The counsels for the parties had concluded arguments on behalf of their clients in the case. The court is likely to announce the judgment in the case on Thursday. The decision in £ 190 million adjustment fraud case would be of far – reaching impact. It will decide the political fate of founder chairman of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI). Imran Khan is in Adiala jail Rawalpindi in multiple cases since August 2023 including adjustment of £ 190 million by his government against liabilities of Bahria Town Karachi. The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has filed a reference against Imran Khan accusing him of causing billions of rupee loss to the state by protecting the interest of notorious Malik Riaz , owner of Bahria Town. Malik Riaz , who is one of top money launderers of Pakistan, had surrendered £ 190 million to UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) a few years ago when Imran Khan was in power , concealing that the money in question was laundered to UK from Pakistan and that he did not want to contest the case in British court of law. This money , as per British law, was to be transferred into the national treasury of Pakistan. According to NAB, Imran Khan as prime minister intentionally got approval of the federal cabinet to adjust this £ 190 million with the Supreme Court of Pakistan against Malik Riaz’s liabilities payable against Bahria Town Karachi. This act of PTI government caused a loss of around Rs 60 billion to the national kitty, NAB noted in the reference. There are many characters of this fraudulent adjustment of public money against crooked Malik Riaz’s another fraud in Karachi . This is a classic case of buying and selling of national interests in Pakistan by a notorious property tycoon. This established as how some crooked can buy everyone from politicians to judges in Pakistan. NAB’s plea that Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi was an important character to this fraud will also be decided by the accountability court when it announces judgement in the case. At least three main characters to this important fraud case have already fled from Pakistan. Imran Khan’s close aide and advisor of his government , Shahzad Akbar , Bushra Bibi’s friend- cum front lady , Farrah Gogi and her sister , Musarat Gogi are included. Besides , these few key characters , entire federal cabinet of PTI government is a part to this mega scam as they approved fraudulent adjustment of £ 190 million to protect the interest of wicked Malik Riaz .
