ISLAMABAD : October 3,2022:. Finance minister , Ishaq Dar, has finally issued a harsh warning to the mafia involved in ‘ hi-jacking ‘ of the rupee to overvalue US dollar in Pakistan.
Ishaq Dar participated in a private TV channel programme here on Monday and rebuked his predecessor , Miftah Ismail and told him that it was not his business to worry about International Monetary Fund (IMF) reaction to his decision of reducing the prices of petroleum products to give some relief to the inflation hit people of Pakistan.
After taking over as Finance minister Ishaq Dar had reduced the rates of petroleum products last week . Mr Dar’s decision was widely hailed by the public which was moaning under unbearable price -hike , a leftover of Miftah Ismail as Finance minister.
The people of Pakistan strongly believe Mr Miftah Ismail protected interest of oil lobby in Pakistan as Finance minister and added killing burden on their lives.
Miftah ‘s act of not passing on benefit of lowering oil prices in international market to domestic consumers seriously alarmed Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) top leader , Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and many others party leaders .
Mian Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, had publically shown their uneasiness over Miftah Ismail ‘s policy of keep on increasing the prices of petroleum products and demanded of the Shahbaz Sharif government to shun this policy to avoid more burden on the people of Pakistan.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi , a senior party leader, ignored Nawaz Sharif’s concern over Miftah Ismail ‘s anti public approach and extended full support to the former Finance minister .
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi ‘s act sent a message of differences among PMLN leaders over firing of Mr Miftah Ismail as Finance minister .
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, who has direct conflict of interest ,is considered close to oil lobby in Pakistan.
Sharp reaction of Miftah Ismail over reduction in oil prices and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi ‘s unflinching support to Miftah Ismail against Ishaq Dar on the issue has exposed every character of the oil lobby .
One can hardly believe that a former Finance minister who has no worth in the party is publically criticising Ishaq Dar , a close and trusted aide to Mian Nawaz Sharif . Another major shock one can have over Shahid Khaqan Abbasi ‘s support to Miftah Ismail against Ishaq Dar on an issue which has created a good image of the PMLN in the public .
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi is also creating bad taste among masses by supporting dollar mafia to which Mr Dar is challenging at the movement . Mr Dar, who has years old experience to manage the national economy is trying hard to bring dollar value to its actual level . Mr Dar is on the record saying that the rupee was hijacked by the mafia which had full support of Imran Khan government, but he will not allow this mafia to hijack the rupee again.
Finance minister , Ishaq Dar , on Monday declared that dollar value will go below 200 mark soon.
Mr Dar exactly knows that strengthening of the rupee was only option to bring price hike down and restore the trust of the people in PMLN to win the next general elections .
Exactly when Ishaq Dar declared that US dollar was going to lose its value to readjust at some level below 200 mark, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi claimed in his media talk that the real value of the actual dollar was between Rs 200 and 210.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has nothing to do with US dollar value and his statement contradicting Finance minister’s claim on US dollar value is nothing except protecting the interest of the mafia involved in hi-jacking of the rupee.
