*Dark & Cold* !!

On a rainy day, I visited Public School Sangota, Swat—a journey to honor my alma mater and pay tribute to the teachers who dedicate their lives, year after year, to dispelling the darkness of ignorance with the light of education.

Stepping out of the car, my eyes fell upon the office—rebuilt in a different style, yet carrying the echoes of history. It brought back memories of the great principals who once led this institution, from the esteemed Sister Pius Madden to the honorable Sister Teresa, each leaving an indelible mark on the lives of countless students.

But as I walked through the corridors, a painful reality struck me. Classrooms, meant to be sanctuaries of knowledge, lay shrouded in darkness due to relentless power outages. A school that nurtures thousands of young minds, that stands as a beacon of quality education for girls in the region, struggles with something as basic as electricity.

This is where apathy meets action. We often hear grand speeches and attend international conferences advocating girls’ education, yet the real test of our commitment lies in ensuring institutions like Public School Sangota receive the support they need—not just in words, but in deeds. Security, infrastructure, and essential utilities like electricity are not privileges; they are necessities for any institution shaping the future of a nation.

I humbly urge His Excellency the Commissioner Malakand, the Deputy Commissioner Swat, and the District Police Officer Swat to take immediate action. Let directives be issued to Peshawar Electric Supply Corporation to ensure an uninterrupted power supply to this vital institution.

Darkness and cold should never be the fate of those striving to illuminate the future.
