Direct election for mayors in KPK, Punjab: PM

PM inaugurates greenline bus service

KARACHI: Prime minister, Imran Khan, on Friday inaugurated green line bus service for Karachi.
Addressing to the participants of the inauguration ceremony, the prime minister said Karachi feeds to entire Pakistan, but unfortunately, the city of lights was completely ignored for management in the past that turned this city of Quaid into a ruin. The prime minister added that K4 project was of extraordinary significance and work on it was going to commence from next month. He said K 4 project was among top priority for development and prosperity of the country and it would be completed in 2023. The prime minister said he was monitoring K 4 project himself.
The prime minister counted a number of projects including distribution of health cards to the people of Khyber Pukhtunkhaw (KPK) . He declared that the Punjab government was going to provide health cards to the people of the province in next four months. He suggested to the Sundh government that it should also follow KPK and Punjab and provide health cards to the people of Sindh. He lambasted the Sindh government for cancelling the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for coastal city project in Karachi . The prime minister reiterated that the coastal city project was to benefit Sindh more than any other stakeholder.
He said the people in KPK and Punjab would elect mayors through direct vote in local bodies elections .
The Pakistan People Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) criticised the prime minister over inauguration of green line bus service for Karachi. PPP leaders kept on holding press conferences to give an impression as if inauguration of green line bus service for Karachi was another fraudulent act of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek- e- Insaf (PTI) . Similiarly, PMLN leader and spokesperson, Maryam Aurangzeb , lashed out at the prime minister, saying Imran Khan was putting his name on the projects conceived and launched by PMLN. .
