ISLAMABAD : Jan 28, 2023: In a shocking decision, Islamabad adminstration has announced a local holiday for Islamabad on Monday (March 30,2023) .
A notification issued by district magistrate Islamabad here on Saturday said there would be a local public holiday in the federal capital on Monday – Jan -30 .
There is no reason mentioned in the notification as to what tempted the district magistrate Islamabad to announce public holiday for Islamabad on Monday and bring a federal city of over one million inhabitants to a halt..
But NEWSMAN sources said the local holiday has been announced to welcome a high level delegation which is visiting Islamabad on Monday.
If that is the case, it’s more than an act of shame . Can an honourable nation close down its capital for one full day to just give protocol to a visiting delegation of a brotherly country ?
Another question that one should ask from those who decided to close down Islamabad to welcome a visiting delation do their delegations get the same protocol when they visit the same country ?.
And if its answer is in the negative why the rulers are making this nation so insulting.
The district magistrate Islamabad perhaps did not see a picture that went viral on social media a few days ago that a retired military chief of this country was standing at a signal to wait to get it turn green to cross a road in one of the friendly countries of Pakistan.
The district magistrate Islamabad ‘s decision to close down Islamabad to welcome a visiting delegation is not only shameful , but insult to this nation of 220 million.
