ISLAMABAD; Dr Waqar Masood Khan, a senior retired grade 22 officer, has been appointed as special assistant to the prime minister on revenue.
The Cabinet Division issued a formal notification to this effect on October 5,2020.
Dr Waqar Masood Khan will have a status of the federal minister of state.
Dr Khan brings with him a life long experience of serving the country in senior positions for years.
He has served as a federal Secretary grade 22 for various ministries like Finance, Petroleum, Economic Affairs Division and Textile for over one decade.
Dr Khan also enjoys reputation as the most honest government officer among top bureaucracy of Pakistan.
As SAPM on revenue , Dr Khan will look after the affairs of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). His priority as SAPM would be to create new evenues to boost -up revenue of the country, besides devising a strategy for plugging- off leakages in revenue system.
