Dubai: On Wednesday, the Dubai Sports Council made a significant accomplishment by appointing former Indian tennis player Sania Mirza as its sports ambassador.
Established in 2005, the Dubai Sports Council is the official body in charge of the growth of the sports industry in the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The council actively promotes physical activity in society, particularly among women and children, and oversees the operations of Dubai’s seven local sports clubs.

The 37-year-old celebrity told her fans and followers the good news on Instagram.
Famous athletes such as former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh and UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov also attended the event.
Instagram users congratulated the top athlete on her significant accomplishment and showered her with love and admiration.
Last year, Sania Mirza announced her retirement from tennis following her final appearance at the Australian Open 2023.
