Rawalpindi – Mian Akram Faird, Chairman of the Rawalpindi Steel and All Traders Association, organized a meeting regarding the 2024 elections of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In this meeting, the group leader of the Rawalpindi Chamber, Sohail Altaf, President of the Rawalpindi Chamber, Saqib Rafiq, former presidents of the Rawalpindi Chamber, Mian Humayun Pervaiz, Najam Rehan, Asad Mashhadi, Mian Pervaiz Aslam’s group candidates, Vice Chairman of the Rawalpindi Steel and All Traders Association Malik Afzal, President Sheikh Abdul Aabid, senior members Imran Sunny, Mian Fayyaz, Muhammad Yaqub, Tariq Haider Butt, and other members, as well as a large number of traders from Rawalpindi, participated.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat. On this occasion, Mian Akram Farid, Chairman of the Rawalpindi Steel and All Traders Association, delivered a welcome address and thanked all the distinguished guests for their presence. He said that the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has the honor of being Pakistan’s first chamber, and I have been associated with the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the past 50 years. All the past and present presidents of Mian Pervaiz Aslam’s group and their team have been very hardworking and extremely loyal to the business community of Rawalpindi. Seeing the tireless efforts of the current chamber team and their efforts to resolve the problems of the business community, I have full hope from Allah Almighty that this time too, Mian Pervaiz Aslam’s group will achieve a resounding historical victory. The Rawalpindi Steel and All Traders Association and the Rawalpindi Chamber are at the forefront of resolving the issues of traders and industrialists, and I, as the Chairman of the Rawalpindi Steel and All Traders Association, on behalf of all the business community associated with our association, assure Group Leader Sohail Altaf, President Saqib Rafiq, and Mian Pervaiz Aslam’s group of our full and unconditional support. Whether it was the collection of millions of rupees in aid from traders at the time of the Ojri Camp incident, changing the course of Nullah Lai, the construction of Rawalpindi CT Sadar Road, the construction of the Rawalpindi Parking Plaza, all these works were carried out with the full support of various associations including Steel Sheet, Sanitary, Timber, Electrical Item Wholesalers, Steel, Pipe, Galvanized Sheet, and other associations. Mian Akram Farid further said that a comprehensive roadmap is being prepared in consultation with all the sub-organizations to resolve the numerous problems of the business community, including complaints related to FBR, improving the flow of traffic on City Sadar, improving relations between traders and the municipal administration, especially the police, uninterrupted supply of electricity and gas, sewerage system, filtration plant, construction of a new parking plaza, and anti-encroachment and other matters.
Group leader of Mian Pervaiz Aslam’s group, Sohail Altaf, while addressing the gathering, said that Mian Pervaiz Aslam’s group has put the Rawalpindi Chamber on the path of progress. The final list of candidates (associates) of Mian Pervaiz Aslam’s group has been displayed. It may be noted that ten candidates from our group (corporate sector) have been elected unopposed. President of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Saqib Rafiq, while addressing the occasion, said that Mian Pervaiz Aslam’s group and the Rawalpindi business community have been with each other for the past 72 years. The doors of our group are open 24 hours a day for the business community, and I, as president, and my team are always available for our business community.
