KHUSHAB: Farooq Awan, a retired senior police officer from Surky village of Soan Valley of Khushab district has emerged as a real moving brain to secure victory for Pakistan People Party (PPP) in Karachi by-election of NA 249 constituency and Azad Jummu Kashmir elections 2021.
Farooq Awan had retired as a senior superintendent of policy (SSP) last year. In his service as senior police officer, Farooq Awan was a symbol of terror for outlaws and criminals. He was a known police officer having great respect in the department for his honesty and bravery. His bravery as a senior police officer was un-paralleled and an shining example for other junior officers and jawans of the police force. During his service to Sindh as senior police officer, Farooq Awan completed numerous difficult operations against hardcore terrorists and foiled their evil designs against the state of Pakistan. Umar Farooq was conferred upon Sitara e Jurut and Hilal e Shujaat awards due to his unparalleled bravery and courage and service to the state and people of Pakistan.
Sine Farooq Awan hails from a strong political family of Khushab district and his elder brother, Shahadat Baloch is a senator of Pakistan and a senior leader of Pakistan People Party (PPP). He was trusted upon a responsibility of organizing the election campaign of Abdul Qadir Mandokhel in by election of NA 249.
Abdul Qadir Mundukhel had lost in the last general elections from the same constituency on PPP ticket and stood 6th among the candidate, his win in by election from the same constituency from where he lost the general elections was almost mission impossible. But PPP top leadership former president, Asif Ali Zardari, and chairman, Balawal Bhutto Zardari, assigned the responsibility of activating the party workers in by- election and secure party win in NA 249 Karachi to Mr Farooq Awan. Farooq Awan took the responsibility head on and organized the party workers who worked day and night and made impossible win of Abdul Qadir Mundukhel possible. The win of PPP in NA 249 Karachi by election gave a big boost to the party. It also added to association of Farooq Awan’s family to PPP.
Seeing the result of NA 249, PPP top leadership again entrusted the responsibility of AJK elections 2021 on Farooq Awan and his brother senator Shahadat Awan. It was a real difficult task as PPP had very limited representation of only three members in last tenure. However, untiring work of Awan brothers of Khushab worked again like a miracle and PPP won 11 seats in AJK elections 2021.
Farooq Awan is a trusted and tested brain of PPP. He may get some important position in Sindh government once his two years period expires after retirement as senior police officer.
