ISLAMABAD : The federal cabinet, which met here on Tuesday with prime minister , Shahbaz Sharif, in the chair, termed the series of actions as ultra constitutional and noted that the president and governor Punjab were misusing their constitutional position to create an administrative and constitutional crisis. The cabinet expressed serious concern that the constitution offices were being used for benefiting the Pakistan Tehreek- e- Insaf (PTI) at the cost of constitutional supremacy.
The federal cabinet also approved appointment of Fawad Asadullah as director general Intelligence Bureau (IB) . It also accepted the resignation of general Muzamal Hussain as chairman WAPDA. General Muzamal had resigned as chairman WAPDA on May 9, 2022.
The cabinet also endorsed the decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the cabinet in its meeting held on Monday last . It endorsed the decision to provide relief to the public in the prices of essential items like flour , sugar and ghee. The subsidy will be provided to the masses on buying of selected items at the Utility Stores across Pakistan.
