ISLAMABAD: A summary was presented to the federal cabinet on Tuesday last with prime minister, Imran Khan, in the chair for appointment of Asim Rauf whose induction in Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) and subsequent promotion from RO (13) (deputy director) to RO (14 ) as additional director,,/ look after CEO DRAP, according to an official inquiry was illegal and based on fake information.
The secretary Health, had the inquiry report when the summary for appointment of Asim Rauf as DRAP CEO was presented to the federal cabinet last week.
The cabinet probably was not given full picture about inquiry report about promotion of Asim Rauf in 2018, which the inquiry committee had declared illegal being based on cheating and wrong information.
Since Asim Rauf is a key character of a powerful mafia linked with senior officials of the Health ministry and Prime Minister House his extension was managed from the federal cabinet by giving it wrong information.
Interestingly, the drug mafia is so cunning and daring that it cheated the prime minister for securing extension for look after charge of DRAP for Asim Rauf.
Reliable sources said the inquiry report now with secretary National Health Services clearly mentioned in its Part A (Prologue) that Asim Rauf got himself inducted in DRAP in June 2015 on forged information. It also made stunning disclosure that Asim Rauf got himself promoted from RO 13 as deputy director to RO 14 as additional director from the Board of the authority which was not a competent authority when he himself was its head to grab the post of CEO DRAP in 2020.
According to the inquiry report , Asim Rauf is now the most powerful official as illegal look after CEO of DRAP, who changes DRAP’s regulations and issues impugned orders at will. Not only this, Asim Rauf, according to an official document, made avaiable to NEWSMAN, has powers to block or simply throw in dust bin the order of the prime minister of Pakistan.
Sources said Asim Rauf enjoys full support of the mafia which dictates its terms in the ministry of National Health Sciences and Prime Minister House and gets approved prices of lifesaving drugs when and to what extent are desired by pharmacutical giants.
Since DRAP’s CEO appointment involves huge powers linked with financial benefits, the mafia of pharmacutical firms gets installed its own man as CEO DRAP.
Asim Rauf’s story of induction in DRAP as deputy director and then getting himself promoted to additional director post illegally to grab office of CEO DRAP itself narrates the whole tale of mafias and hIs links with powerful officials holding key positions in the Prime Minister Office and ministry of National Health Sciences.
Another official document suggests that the prime minister of Pakistan personally took notice of the public complaints and ordered inquiry to find out facts about Asim Rauf’s promotion as additional director DRAP in 2018.
Now when the inquiry committee has submitted its report to the secretary Health confirming promotion of Asim Rauf and 5 other DRAP officials it’s not submitting inquiry report to the prime minister despite repeated orders of the Prime Minister House.
Will the prime minister ask who submitted the summary to the federal cabinet for extension of Asim Rauf’s look after CEO DRAP charge when his appointment was already declared illegal by the inquiry committee?.
