KARACHI : The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday arrested former senator and senior Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) leader , Chaudhary Tanvir , at Karachi when he had reached there to leave for Dubai.
Chaudhary Tanvir was wanted to Punjab Anti Corruption Department in a case. Chaudhary Tanvir who is considered as a close and trusted political aide to Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz top leadership had left for Dubai a couple of years ago to avoid his arrest when Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) came into power in 2018.
PMLN spokesperson , Maryam Aurangzeb , has condemned arrest of Chaudhary Tanvir when he was on bail. She said Chaudhary Tanvir’s arrest was the worst kind of victimisation of political opponents in PTI rule . Miss Maryam warned prime minister , Imran Khan, to stop victimisation of political opponents otherwise he will have to face the same fate when out of power.
