LAHORE: Firdous Ashiq Awan , who resigned as special advisor to chief minister Punjab recently , faced sheer embarassment on Tuesday when the staff refused to allow her entry into the Punjab assembly building here.

The staff showed the list of the guests who were issued visitors card to come to Punjab assembly to see oath taking of Ahsin Salim Baryar , a newly elected member of the Punjab assebly from PP- 38, Sialkot.

Ahsin Salim Baryar of a Sialkot- based business family had won the Punjab assembly seat from PP -38 in byelection held on July 28, 2021.

Firdous Ashiq Awan, who also hails from Sialkot and the same constituency from where Ahsin Salim won on Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) ticket, had taken active part in election campaign to support Ahsin Salim Baryar. However, despite having close relations with Baryar family of Sialkot, she got humiliating behaviour outside Punjab assembly where the staff denied her entry when Ahsin Salim Baryar was taking oath as PP member.

Although she downplayed the incident and said in her media talk that her name was very much in the guests list, but someone removed it later on.

However, Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) spokesperson in Punjab, Uzma Bukhari, took its full advantage and amused by saying “Baji (Firdous) should not have been humiliated by dening entry into Punjab assembly as she was wearimg a sharp pink suit.
