RAWALPINDI : NOV 28,2022: Leautinant general and commander Bahawalpur corps , Faiz Hameed, has submitted his resignation from his post.
Lt Gen Faiz Hameed, who was Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) chief prior to his appointment as corps commander Peshawar. From Peshawar , Faiz Hameed was transferred to Bahawalpur to command the crops there.
Originally ,Lt Gen Faiz Hameed’s retirement was due in April 2023.
Lt Gen Faiz Hameed was a specialist on Afghanistan and he was a part of the Pakistani team which had held negotiations with Taliban leadership in Kabul after Taliban takeover in Afghanistan .
Lt Gen Faiz Hameed’s role as ISI chief was very important in protecting the interests of Pakistan in the region and beyond.
Lt Gen Faiz Hameed enjoys repute as a great spy of Pakistan and a true soldier
It may be noted that Lt Gen Faiz Hameed’s name was also among those six senior generals of Pakistan army who were listed in the summary forwarded by the army to the ministry of Defence (MoD) to send it to the prime minister for appointment of the new army chief .
