GIKI convocation celebrates academic excellence, Innovation , future of Pakistan’s youth

ISLAMABAD – The annual convocation ceremony of the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) was held with great enthusiasm, bringing together distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, students, and their families to celebrate academic excellence and the achievements of a new generation of engineers.

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani attended the ceremony as the chief guest and distributed degrees among the graduating students, while medals and awards were conferred upon those who demonstrated outstanding academic performance.The event was attended by Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi, President of the Board of Governors and Executive Committee and former Federal Minister Salim Saifullah Khan, member of the Board of Governors and Executive Committee Shakeel Durrani, GIKI Rector Professor Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, distinguished academicians, parents, and a large number of students.

Addressing the gathering, the speakers emphasized the vital role of higher education in shaping the future of the country and underscored the importance of equipping young people with modern knowledge and technical skills to meet emerging global challenges.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi congratulated the graduates and their families, describing their success as the outcome of perseverance, dedication, parental support, and collective sacrifice.He observed that the graduating students represent Pakistan’s future engineers and innovators who will contribute significantly to national development, infrastructure improvement, technological advancement, and economic growth.He noted that GIKI has established itself as one of Pakistan’s premier engineering institutions and has consistently produced graduates who have earned recognition both nationally and internationally.He remarked that the immense potential and talent of the youth, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, constitute a valuable asset for the country’s progress.

Highlighting the significance of modern education, he urged students to pursue expertise in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, green energy, cyber security, advanced engineering, and digital technologies.He stressed that knowledge, innovation, and adaptability are the foundations of success in an increasingly competitive global environment.
