Governor KPK emphasizes commitment to public issues , provincial rights

Peshawar – Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has reiterated that the governor serves as the true representative of the province’s people and that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has always championed the resolution of public issues and the protection of citizens’ rights.

He made these remarks during a meeting with a large delegation led by former Member of Provincial Assembly, Khalid Waqar Chamkani. Prominent figures present on the occasion included PPP’s Provincial President Muhammad Ali Shah Bacha, Divisional President Misbahuddin Khan, District General Secretary Khalid Achhar, party office-bearers, workers, and local community leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said that the primary reason behind prolonged electricity load shedding is the lack of bill recovery in certain areas. He stated that he has directed WAPDA authorities to address the issue, as there are many regions where people regularly pay their electricity bills but still suffer from power outages. He urged WAPDA authority and local elders to sit together and find a practical solution to the problem.

He also acknowledged ongoing issues related to gas supply and assured the delegation that efforts are underway to address them. He emphasized that both government officials and the public share responsibility in the persistence of such problems, and it is crucial to recognize ground realities for sustainable solutions.

Highlighting his priorities, Governor Kundi stated that securing the province’s constitutional rights is at the top of his agenda. He called for unity among all political parties in the province to collectively advocate for these rights.

Criticizing the previous Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, he said that the party had pushed the province toward destruction. “Lawlessness is at its peak, and political victimization and corruption were the main priorities of the previous provincial government,” he added.

The Governor encouraged the delegation to form a committee so he could arrange meetings with relevant departments, enabling a structured and gradual resolution of the issues faced by the local population.

During the meeting, several political figures from various areas also announced their decision to join the Pakistan Peoples Party. These included Qaiser Khan, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) PK-11; Janisar Khan, President of Mashokhel; Musafir Khan; and Arab Nawaz Khan, President of Masho Gagar, who joined the PPP along with their supporters.
