ISLAMABAD : Nov 8,2022:. The federal government has issued a formal notification to observe November 9, as Allama Iqbal day.
A notification issued by the Finance Division said that the holiday on November 9 in connection with Allama Iqbal day was restored by Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) government on December 17,2021.
The Cabinet Division’s notification also carries the reference of the decision taken by the previous government in 2021.
The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) government had ended gazetted holiday on November 9 to observe anniversary of Allama Iqbal with a view that too many gazetted holidays were hampering the pace of progress of the country . PTI government reversed this decision.
