ISLAMABAD: Living to its strategy of keep adding burden of enhanced petroleum products prices on the consumers, the Pakistan Tehreek- e- Insaf (PTI) government revised upward the rates of petrol and other petroleum products by Rs 4 a liter.
One can call new upward revision in petroleum products as a “gift ” of PTI government for the people of Pakistan on the eve of calender year 2022.
The ministry of Finance issued a notification for increase in petroleum products here on Friday. The new prices will remain effective for a fortnight ending on January 15, 2022.
According to the notification of Finance ministry, Kerosin oil rates have been increased by Rs 3.95 to push- up its new rates to Rs 113.53 per liter. The rates of light diesel went up by Rs 4.15 and its new rates have been fixed at Rs 116.05 per liter. For High Speed Diesel (HSD), the new rates with an increase of Rs 4 went up to Rs 141.62 per liter. Similiarly, petrol prices also went up by Rs 4 to take its retail price to 144.82.
The PTI government is jacking up the prices of petroleum products off and on when the international market goes up , but it hardly gives any relief to the consumers when the rates decline. This strategy of keep on adding burden of increased prices of petroleum products have made the lives of not only the consumers, but also of those who use public transport for travelling. The petroleum products are directly related to inflation due to its spiral affect . The new increase is going to make the people lives miserable.
