ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tahreek e Insaf (PTI) government has offered to share the letter shown by prime minister , Imran Khan, to the public at its early held in Islamabad on March 27, 2022 with chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Atta Bandial.
Minister for Planning and Development , Asad Umar , and Information minister , Fawad Hussain Chaudhary, made a formal announcement to share the letter with CJP to establish its authenticity.
The prime minister had drawn a letter from his pocket and showed to the public while addressing the government organised at Parade ground in Islamabad on March 27, 2022 , claiming the letter in his hand was sent to threaten him of dire consequences by an important country. The prime minister ,however , did not share details of the letter with the public.
Since unveiling of the ‘threatening letter,’, its authenticity is in question . The opposition, in particular , and local media in general , is chiding the prime minister on the said threatening letter. The critics argue that the prime minister was using s fake letter to get the public favour, besides linking the no confidence motion moved against him to establish that the opposition was acting on behalf of some international anti,- Pakistani lobby struggling to topple his government .
Asad Umar claimed that the letter under discussion had been discussed with the security related all departments . However , he added, since its credibility and authenticity was in question, the government was ready to share the letter with the chief justice of Pakistan who holds very respectable status and position in the country.
Information minister , Fawad Chaudhary , seconded Asad Umar’s point of view and said CJP although not a relevent authority but the government considers him the most important person who as an individual enjoys great repute could be the right man to see the letter and confirm its authenticity.
