LAHORE : July 22, 2022: A stage has been set for a high voltage play here on Friday when Hamza Shahbaz and Chaudhary Pervez Elahi will be facing each other one on one for Punjab’s chief minister office.
Chaudhary Pervez Elahi enjoys support of Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf (PTI) which had got landslide victory in by -elections held in the province on July 17 last. PTI stunning victory on 15 seats in the by-elections had pushed it to a status of major parliamentary party in Punjab and in practical terms the alliance of PTI and PMLQ have majority to win the election of the chief minister and form government in Punjab which comprises of more than 60 % population of the country.
The statistics show that PMLQ and PTI have 188 members in Punjab assembly whereas a party or group needs only 186 members to defeat opponents to form the government in Punjab.
But this is not a simple equation for Chaudhary Pervez Elahi. With winning of PTI in by polls on July 17, 2022, he was very passionate and emotional as he foreseeing him on the chair of chief minister by winning his one on one match with Hamza Shahbaz. However, he seems landing in trouble as some of PTI members seem differing with his party chief to vote for Chaudhary Pervez Elahi. If it happens it would be catastrous for younger Chaudhary of Gujrat .
Hamza Shahbaz enjoys support of total 180 members against 188 of Chaudhary Pervez Elahi. But the reports of rift among PTI on voting for Chaudhary Pervez Elahi may become a breathing space for Hamza Shahbaz.
Interior minister , Rana Sanaullah’s statement that 50 PTI members Punjab assembly are a clear indication for a storm for Chaudhary Pervez Elahi . Chaudhary Pervez Elahi has life long experience of tackling such challenging situation. Will he overcome challenge of today and win big game of today .
