ISLAMABAD : The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN) leader and senator elect , Ishaq Dar , has said he does not need any certificate from any party leader to come back home from United Kingdom (UK).
He was responding to the party senior leader and former prime minister , Shahid Khan Abbasi, with out naming him . Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had said a few days ago that return of Ishaq Dar was not a party decision .
Ishaq Dar added that he was coming back home on the advice of party supremo , Nawaz Sharif , at the end of July next .
Finally , Ishaq Dar , a close relative of Sharifs, former Finance minister and member- elect of the senate , has cleared the dust by announcing that he was ready to return to Pakistan in July next. A day earlier , Mr Dar had told a TV show that he was coming home soon. He said “I am getting ready to come to Pakistan next month and take oath of the senator , Ishaq Dar confirmed to Pakistani media on Tuesday .
Ishaq Dar had left Pakistan in 2017 for United Kingdom for ‘treatment’ . Mr Dar is very close political aide to Sharifs. His return to Pakistan amidst political uncertainty is of extra ordinary significance . The political commentators take Mr Dar’s return to Pakistan as an indication that the incumbent government was going to stay in power till the last day of the current 5-year term.
Mr Dar is likely to replace Mr Miftah as Finance minister . This development indicates that Sharifs were more than serious for correction in the national economy and it will assign the job of Finance minister to Mr Dar . Mr Miftah Ismail since taking over as Finance minister was doing his best efforts to run the show , but the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PMLN ) top leadership was not fully satisfied with his performance
Mr Dar told the media that his health issue was going to be over in 10 to 12 days and then he will come to Pakistan. He said he was ready to face the case filed against him in the court of law . He claimed that the only case made against him by Imran Khan government was politically motivated .
Mr Dar has been issued a new passport to travel to Pakistan from UK. Reportedly, PMLN legal team is going to seek protective bail from the court to avoid arrest on Mr Dar’s arrest.
