ISLAMABAD. With spike in corona cases in the federal capital, the local administration has imposed section 144 to ensure use of face mask by the public.
The orders issued by Hamaza Shafqat, the deputy commissioner Islamabad , will be effective with immediate effect and will remain in force for two months.
The DC Islamabad issued the orders for imposition of section 144 in the federal capital on October 28 2020.
In the recent weeks Islamabad has witnessed massive increase in corona cases .
The number of actual cases may be far more than the reported ones. The majority of the cases are not being reported to the hospitals or district administration as the public at large is not taking the pandemic seriously.
Dr Rizwan, a virologist at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) told NEWSMAN on Wednesday there has been a sudden spike in corona cases in the federal capital in recent weeks , but the public at large is not taking the pandemic seriously.
Despite massive campaign in the media, the people in the federal capital are hardly using face mask to protect themselves from the infection.
