ISLAMABAD: A single bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) comprising Justice, Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, on Tuesday dismissed National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) president, Arif Usmani and Board of Directors (BoD) chairman, Zubair Somro, and ordered to remove both of them from their posts forthwith.
The court in its orders noted that the appointment of NBP president, Arif Usmani, and BoD chairman, Zubair Somro, were made in violation of the rules and hence these both appointments stand annuled.

Syed Jahangir, Latif Qureshi and some other complainants had challenged the appointments of Arif Usmani and Zubair Somro before IHC.
After hearing the arguments of both sides, the court had reserved the judgment in the case on June 11. 2021, which was announced today (June 29), 2021.
