ISLAMABAD : July 3,2023: A single bench of Islamabad High Court (IHC) of Mr Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb , has vacated stay against election of the chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
Mr Bilal Raza senior advocate presented PCB before the court . On the outset of the arguments in the case , Bilal Raza advocate pleaded before the court that the writ against the election of the chairman was not maintainable. He further argued that the writ filed the petitioner , Irfan Manzoor, president Cricket Board Committee Islamabad, has some hidden agenda and it is damaging Pakistan’s cricket game in Pakistan. He pleaded before the court that the petition filed by Irfan Manzoor may please be struck down .
The court showed annoyance over multiplicity of the litigation to get injunction for the elections of the chairman of PCB . The court disagreed with the petitioner and observed that the petition in this case was entertained by the court on June 26, 2023, but it cannot be further proceeded and hence the stay is vacuated.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has already vacated the stay in this case. The vacation of the stay has paved way for the elections of the chairman of PCB.
