ISLAMABAD: August 19, 2022. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman , Imran Khan, on Friday hurled below average accusations, claiming that Shahbaz Gill, his arrested chief security officer (CSO), was made to physical and mental torture, besides putting him to sexual abuse during custody.
Giving his reaction to alleged torture to his CSO, PTI chief on Friday said ‘ He has full details as to how Shahbaz Gill was put to sexual abuse during custody“. He also claimed that Shahbaz Gill was made to the worst physical and mental torture to force him to breakdown and speak out against him. He warned that the masses will give reaction to treatment given to Shahbaz Gill during the police custody.
Imran Khan noted that Shahbaz Gill’s appearance in the court showed he was tortured during custody and he wanted to know who did it and why?. He warned who so ever did it will be put to questions. He questioned who can torture Shahbaz Gill in such a horrifying manners in the name of investigations?.
Imran Khan’s reaction shows he is more than serious finally to give moral support to his CSO , Shahbaz Gill..
Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s legal advisor, Babar Awan advocate had a press conference here on Friday to give a policy statement of PTI in the case of Shahbaz Gill case.
Mr Awan said “ Shahbaz Gill is an asset and entire PTI stands behind him”. He said Imran Khan will himself meet Shahbaz Gill to enquire about his health in hospital. Babar Awan added that Imran Khan may lead a public rally for release of Shahbaz Gill.
The court after hearing the plea filed by PTI had ordered to admit Shahbaz Gill in hospital till his health recovers.
Shahbaz Gill was rushed to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) on August 17 when he was handed over to the Islamabad police by the Adiyala jail administration following a stand-off that lasted for over five and half hours on Wednesday.
The jail authorities were reluctant to handover Shahbaz Gill to Islamabad police in sheer violation of the court orders.
A session and district judge Islamabad had granted the police physical remand of Imran Khan’s CSO and ordered the Adiyala jail authorities to handover the accused to Islamabad police for 24 hours for investigations.
In violation of the court orders, the Adiyala Jail authorities preferred its liking to top decision- makers in Punjab government and resisted handing over of Shahbaz Gill to Islamabad police.
The jail authorities presented a medical certificate already in question in Islamabad High Court (IHC) to deny handing over of Shahbaz Gill to Islamabad police.
The Adiyala jail authorities literally brought the federation and Punjab province at loggerhead on Shahbaz Gill’s custody issue.
IHC has taken its serious notice and ordered the medical officer of Adiyala jail and Jail authorities to appear before it on next Monday with all relevant record to prove as to what prompted them to violate the court orders for not handing over Shahbaz Gill to Islamabad police for investigations.
