Rawalpindi : Army Chief Field Marshal, Syed Asim Munir, has said that Pakistan gave a resolute and full response to Indian provocation, however, India is still adamant on creating instability in the region and Pakistan has made it clear that any Indian aggression will be given a befitting reply.
According to security sources, while addressing the Pakistani community during his visit to the US, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that it is an honor for me to address Pakistanis living in the US. Overseas Pakistanis are not a ‘brain drain but a brain gain’, overseas Pakistanis are a source of honor and dignity and are as enthusiastic as other Pakistanis.
The Field Marshal said that India wants to present itself as a ‘Vishva Guru’, but in practice it is nothing like that. The involvement of India’s intelligence agency ‘RAW’ in transnational terrorist activities is a cause of serious concern at the global level, examples of which are the murder of a Sikh leader in Canada, the case of 8 Indian naval officers in Qatar and incidents like Kulbhushan Jadhav.
The Field Marshal said that Pakistan has fought a successful diplomatic war against India’s discriminatory and duplicitous policies.
The recent Indian aggression carried out under shameful pretexts seriously violated Pakistan’s sovereignty and martyred innocent civilians.
The Field Marshal said that this Indian aggression has brought the region to the brink of a dangerously flaming war, where any mistake would lead to a bilateral conflict. The Field Marshal said that Pakistan is extremely grateful to President Donald Trump, whose strategic leadership not only stopped the India-Pakistan war but also prevented many wars going on in the world. Pakistan responded resolutely and forcefully to Indian provocations, we succeeded in preventing a wider conflict, however, India is still adamant on creating instability in the region.
Field Marshal said that Pakistan has made it clear that any Indian aggression will be given a befitting reply, while occupied Kashmir is not an internal matter of India but an unfinished international agenda.
Field Marshal said that as the Quaid-e-Azam had said, Kashmir is the ‘jugular vein’ of Pakistan, there are also UN Security Council resolutions on occupied Kashmir, and Pakistan fully supports these resolutions. The Army Chief further said that my second visit after a gap of just one and a half months marks a new dimension in Pak-US relations, the aim of these visits is to take the relations on a constructive, sustainable and positive path, while huge investments are expected thanks to a possible trade agreement with the US.
He said that the ongoing genocide in Gaza is a worst human tragedy that has serious implications at both the global and regional levels. Several terrorist organizations from Afghanistan,
including Fitna al-Kharij, are active against Pakistan. At present, Pakistan is the last bulwark against terrorism. There is no sympathy for terrorists and they will have to face justice with full force.
The Field Marshal said that our progress and prosperity are linked to Pakistanis living around the world.
The devotion and commitment of Pakistanis living abroad to their beloved homeland is an open fact. Even in the event of sudden disasters, Pakistanis abroad are the first to respond to the appeal for help.
Regarding social media, the Field Marshal said that today’s social media has become a powerful tool, but anti-national elements also use it to create ‘artificial chaos’.
He quoted the verses of the Holy Quran and said, ‘O you who believe! If a wicked person comes to you with any news, do your research thoroughly so that you do not harm anyone out of ignorance and later regret your actions.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir said that the thinking, relationships, and priorities of the new generation are different, which is the need of the hour to understand. Our 64 percent young population is full of immense potential, which will play a key role in building the future.
He said that Pakistan has also achieved significant successes on the international relations front. Various memorandums of understanding are being implemented with the United States, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and China, which will promote economic cooperation and investment.
The Field Marshal said that our recent success against India in the diplomatic and security fields is the result of the mercy of Allah Almighty, the collective efforts of the nation, the foresight and perseverance of the political leadership and the professionalism of our brave forces.
The Field Marshal said that the question before us now is not ‘if’ we will rise, but rather the question is ‘how quickly and with how much force’ we will rise. Let us stand up and move forward with a new spirit and purpose, upholding the legacy of our ancestors.
