ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman, Lt Gen. (Retd) Nazir Ahmad , said here on Wednesday that INTERPOL has issued red warrant for arrest of Riaz Malik and his son Ali Malik who are on the run to avert their arrests in multiple criminal cases of deceits, bungling , land grabbing , murders and money laundering.
Raiz Malik and Ali Malik , Bahria Town’s owners, had fled from Pakistan some two years ago to avoid their arrests in multiple cases.
NAB had issued horrifying details of father-son duo –criminal cases involving murders, cheating, land grabbing, corruption, frauds and money laundering.
Both Riaz Malik and Ali Malik are hiding in Dubai to avoid their arrests. Since Riaz Malik and Ali Malik had looted the public in Pakistan in the name of Bahria Town Housing project and laundered their looted money to other countries , they were feeling protected in Dubai .
Initially , their idea of taking refuge in Dubai worked as the rulers of that country reportedly not only refused to hand over Riaz Malik and Ali Malik to Pakistan to face the cases , but also allowed him to woo other like-minded Pakistani launderers to shift their stolen money to Dubai and invest in his Dubai based housing project.
The institutions in Pakistan believe Riaz Malik and Ali Malik facilitated five thousand or more filthy rich Pakistanis to launder roughly $ 25 billion to $ 30 billion to Dubai in the last one year and that ill-gotton money went directly to Riaz Malik and Ali Malik ‘s Dubai based housing projects.
In a related development, the government of Pakistan is separately probing those individuals who took billions of dollars from Pakistan through Hawala and Hundi and invested in Riaz Malik and Ali Malik’s housing project in Dubai.
Malik Riaz and Ali Riaz not only wooed other fraudulent and land grabbers to launder their looted money to Dubai to invest in their housing project , but also threatened and tried to black mail the authorities in Pakistan some two months ago who are investigating their cases back at home.
